Who you are buying from
Your seller is Gordon Humphreys, a sole trader trading as Gordon’s Honey Co, at Winifred Cottage, Whitchurch Road, Bangor-on-Dee, Wrexham, LL13 0AY. Email contact@gordonshoneyco.co.uk for questions or complaints.
Orders and payment
Check your products, apiaries, quantities, address and delivery choice before paying. Prices are in pounds sterling and include any applicable taxes. Delivery charges are shown before you confirm your order.
We accept your order when we send the order confirmation accepting it. If we cannot supply an item or identify an obvious pricing error, we will contact you promptly to agree a solution or cancel the affected order and refund it. We will not substitute honey from another apiary or increase an agreed price without your agreement.
Honey is paid in full at checkout. You can order up to 12 jars online across any mix of apiaries. Larger orders are by enquiry.
About the honey
Each 340 g jar comes from the apiary selected. Colour, flavour and consistency vary with the flowers, season and batch. Photographs and descriptions show the current batches, but honey naturally crystallises and may change in appearance or texture over time. Such variation does not reduce your right to receive goods matching their description and of satisfactory quality.
Store honey in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, with the lid closed. Honey is not suitable for infants under 12 months.
Overwintered bee nuc reservations
The advertised 2027 overwintered nuc costs £350: £50 to reserve and £300 later. The deposit forms part of the £350 total. Six National frames, a marked F1 Buckfast queen and a reusable Paynes poly nuc are included.
We request the balance by email in spring 2027, with payment due within 14 days of that request. Your card is not charged automatically. Full payment is needed before dispatch or collection. If you miss the payment date, we will contact you and give reasonable notice before cancelling or reallocating the colony; any deposit deduction follows our returns and cancellation policy.
April–May 2027 is the expected handover period, subject to weather, colony development and safe transport. We will agree a date with you. If a material delay means the revised arrangement no longer suits you, contact us to cancel for a refund of the amounts paid. If we cannot supply, we will refund you. Any dates agreed as essential and your statutory rights remain protected.
Bees are living livestock. Temperament, swarming and honey production depend on conditions and management; no particular honey yield or swarm-free performance is promised. This does not exclude our responsibility for a colony that is faulty or not as described. Please prepare a suitable apiary, compatible hive and protective equipment before handover.
Summer nucs are currently an availability mailing list, not a paid reservation. Their price and terms will be provided before any order is accepted.
Delivery, collection and cancellations
Our delivery policy explains the delivery areas, charges, estimated times and arrangements. Our returns and cancellation policy explains change-of-mind rights, problems with goods and the fair limits on any retained nuc deposit. These form part of your order terms. We do not treat a £50 deposit as non-refundable in every circumstance.
Business hive services
Hive sponsorship and managed-hive services are agreed separately in writing. We confirm the scope, price, duration and any renewal arrangements before you commit. No recurring payment is authorised simply by sending an enquiry.
Website, privacy and reviews
Our shop is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information about visits and purchases, including through its Enhanced Services, which can use interactions with this store, other merchants and Shopify. Information may be processed in other countries. Our privacy policy explains this, your choices and the roles of providers including Judge.me for reviews.
Reviews should reflect a genuine experience. We may remove spam, fake reviews, abusive content or personal information, but do not remove a genuine review simply because it is critical. A verified-purchase badge concerns purchase verification, not a guarantee of the reviewer’s opinion.
Problems and your rights
Please contact Gordon first so we can try to put things right. We do not exclude liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing here removes your consumer rights.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in their home part of the UK. Updates apply to future orders, not retrospectively to orders already accepted.
