I recently sat down with Laurence Edwards from Black Mountain Honey for a chat on his Hive Q channel. We talked about my first season with the bees, how the apiaries have grown and what comes next for Gordon’s Honey Co.
The conversation covers the time and equipment involved in looking after a growing number of colonies, producing nucs and getting the first honey extracted. We also talked about some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way, including queen introductions and knowing when to stop making more splits.
